The worst I ever tasted was room temperature Guinness in Africa in 1963. YUK.

Anything dark from Arrogant Bastard, Stone (Ruination IPA), Sam Adams (Worldwide Stout), Rogue (Dead Guy Ale or Shakespeare Stout). But on the incredibly rare occasion when I go on a fire-for-effect mission, it’s Yuengling Lager.

Not a huge beer drinker but... (I prefer bourbon...)
A friend of ours hosted a beer tasting party. He supplied food, everyone invited had to bring two unusual six packs. He had about 50 people in the back yard, so that's about 100 different beers. He divided them up by country of origin in previously arranged ice chests with tables out set with shot glass sized disposable cups. I guess I tried about 50 different beers that night- Bier 33 from Vietnam stands out for some reason. Fun night.

    I’m guessing (50 people x 12 beers)/2-3 pissers = plenty plant watering. :mamoru:

I’ve only ever tried it once (state-side and cold) and I can honestly say it’s the only beer I haven’t given a second chance. I’m glad they make so many options.

I have a few bottles of Guinness in my fridge as well. It's MUCH better off of a tap than it is out of a bottle. It's even better if you add a shot of Bailey's and a shot of Jameson to it and chug it :)

My all-time favorite beer is something that I had in Hong Kong and can't seem to find stateside: Hangry Donut. It's like a stronger, fuller Blue Moon. Was absolutely delicious.

Smiley Anders published my "least favorite beer" story...

Upon finishing my active duty Army enlistment and returning home for a visit in the early 90’s, I noticed a 6-pack of beer, minus one, in the fridge. Knowing that my dad wasn’t a big beer drinker, I asked from whence it came. His response was that he found it up in the attic a while back and, not being one to waste much of anything, tossed in in the fridge. Now, I definitely remembered hiding that 6-pack of beer in the attic when I was in high school, at least 4 years prior, and asked, incredulously, if the beer was still good. Dad said that he tried a bottle and it was surprised that it was just as tasty as any non attic-stored beer. I excitedly cracked open the second bottle of this historic 6-pack, took a drink, and immediately retched at the vile, disgusting rotten swamp water that I had just ingested. Dad just stood there, smiling, and said that it was just partial payback for all the BB holes in the furniture (indoor BB wars), unauthorized use of his vehicles (beats walking) and general parental grey hair!

The least expensive beer I ever purchased was in the Philippines in the early 1960's. Had about 25 cartons of cigarettes purchased tax exempt for $1.10 each and traded them for beer.
One case of beer for each carton of cigarettes = $1.10 per case of beer.

    Not a bad deal.

I was in Bejing in early 2018 and we bought liters of Tsingtao or $0.25 at a local restaurant. They didn't really speak much English, but it was clear that drinking the water was not smart...and we were very okay with beer after the long ass flight.

Am I the only one who thinks Heineken literally tastes like skunk smell?

I used to make Craft Beers. What you hate is the excessive use of hops both in making it, As well as Hops used as "Finished Hops" .
They use way too much to get that Aroma when you pop one open. So much you can smell that smell when someone else opens one. Just Plain Old Nasty as far as I am concerned. Like Beer BO

    LOL no.

What you smell is the type of hops and malted barley they use, as well as the pungent smell of skunking because they choose to use those stupid green bottles and it usually sits in a hot climate before arriving to your store.

If you once brewed beer, you probably weren't good at it.

Why bother posting in a beer thread when you don't like beer?

Let me guess, Mrs. 340six bought you a homebrew kit and you winged it.

Oh and "finished hops" are not a variety of hops.

The Worldwide Stout is a whole different animal from Draught Stought. And as said, it’s absolutely better out of a proper tap. We used to get a half barrel for beer (or bear, or deer, or turkey, or small game) camp and tolerated the regular beer-gas. After the second year we pitched in on a nitro system and it tasted how it was supposed to.

What was really shocking was when my wife and I went to Ireland for our honeymoon. Guinness there, even being a lower ABV, tastes even better. The brewery tour was the second-best thing we did the whole two weeks, tied with seeing Riverdance. The best thing we did was the Jameson distillery tour. Didn’t get to squeeze in any fly fishing, or I’m sure that would’ve beat the booze.

Distillery Reserve blue label ain’t exactly Macallan 21, but it’s darn close.

    Whatever you say, Kevin.

My dad made wine with seasonal fruits few times a,year. The waiting that to be even ok to drink was not for me. Year's ago a place called the BrewHaHa got a leak or broken pipe. I did the Estamate and started buying raw items to make beer up. This was pre internet. They had a manual metal grinder but took the handle off on put a Drill on it. Sold in bulk or by pound. I still have one bottle of dad's last wine Strawberry.
