HK VP9SK LE. If Glock isn’t for you give it a try. Many options for sizing to your hand.

I have and like the VP9 and VP9SK pistols.
I'll be at Nick's in Garyville tomorrow morning practicing. If you want to try a few different guns I can bring some to test out. Just shoot me a PM. I'll bring G19, M&P's, Sig's, CZ's and others.
There are many good reasons why everyone on here will say get a GLOCK but I don't like being like everyone else and I bought a Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm (VTAC). I like that it's in FDE and the Viking Tactical sights that come with it can be used during the day and at night.
I do agree with the critics about the trigger being "squishy" and will be upgrading to an Apex Tactical trigger-kit.
Not being like everyone else is probably one of the worst reasons for going with non-glock. The only other reasons mentioned, fde and night sights, are available with glocks. If you don't like glocks or the M&P feels better, I get it. But one should never pick a self defense weapon because it is different than the majority.

Hahahahaha! Right on!After reading this thread, I realize a lot of you either need training or shouldn't own a gun at all.
If you don’t have time to try out a few guns at a range for fit then you likely don’t have time to practice with the one you buy either.
A good pistol for self defense requires that it fit you well as a shooter and that you consistently practice with what you do buy.
Without these things may I suggest you just carry a brick?
You’ll likely be more proficient with it than a pistol and you are less likely to hurt yourself or innocent bystanders with it.

I find their utility brick in slate gray to be an excellent option with the bonus in that it looks soooo tacticool.
I am speechless.
That is hilarious.
Well played Sir!
got to agree with you !! ...if the o.p. is really serious, he would be ''safer'' with a revolver with a heavy trigger pull!!Sarcasm/humor with an honest message, that’s all.
