Wait wait wait, you are openly admitting to running from the police...because of...camera tickets...Bro.

Any idea what happens if you royally **** up their boot? Or what if you just take it off yourself and dump it somewhere? Do they come after you more, then? lol

Yes I openly admit, I'm also glad they burned up that old Malibu that was chasing me, they couldn't even get past 90 before it started smoking and pull to the shoulder. I'm old and tired of all the bullcrap and not going to take it anymore. I used to be a cop, got plenty friends that are cops, but some don't deserve to wear the badge.

The reason I don't pay photo tickets goes back to me having to deal with the city of New Orleans on a speeding ticket I paid. I thought $500 was the norm for a ticket in New Orleans and since I was speeding, I went and paid it. Months later when it came time to renew my insurance my premium tripled. I called them and they said it was because I had a reckless operation ticket. I told them I had a speeding ticket. The cop put the wrong RS code on the ticket either by mistake, or on purpose. I tried dealing with the city to get it corrected and they said since I paid the ticket there was nothing they can do. I had to pay higher premiums for 3 years because of this a$$hole, but maybe it's my fault I didn't look up the RS code myself before paying it. Ever since I have refused to pay Photo enforced tickets and if an NOPD lights me up I hit the gas and they have to catch me. So far I've been lucky and was able to get away before they got my plate number twice. In another month I will have no reason to travel to New Orleans or Westwego again.

Are you sure your speeding and driving habits didn’t get you the reckless driving charge? How fast were you going etc

I guess my question was more of a hypothetical question regarding taking the boot off without paying...:mamoru:

I’m assuming you would have to damage it and they aren’t cheap, therefore you would catch a damage to property charge at a minimum.

I'm ashamed to admit that I too was an idiot back in the day ( 40 years ago ) . I would crank the wick and light up the rear tire on my suzuki 1100 every time a cop tried to pull me over . Thank God I grew up before someone got hurt or killed . High speed chase is for TV and not the real world . If a cop is hurt or killed while chasing you or even heading to get involved in the chase you can be prosecuted ? Even worse what if an innocent person or kid gets killed ? Grow up - slow down and accept responsibility for what you do .
Note !! Not implying cops are not innocent , should have said person not involved in the chase .

No, stopped for 74 in a 60 on I-10 at Read Blvd. The ticket stated that, but the RS # written down was the wrong one. New Orleans probably does that a lot just to get extra money on fines. I grew smarter, now I run duel radar and laser jammer ( Blinder HP-905 with 6 sensors). I don't drive over 10 miles over the speed limit most of the time. I used to run a plate flipper years ago too. Had built a radar jammer where I set the speed to show less than I was driving, but I didn't get stupid and set it for 60 while doing 90.

OMG did I finally meet someone that obey's all traffic laws? WOW....You must be awesome.

After a few speeding tickets, I decided speeding wasn’t worthwhile. You’re not saving much time by traveling 10 mph over the speed limit. I can’t say that I’ve ever received a ticket for anything else.

I knew an idiot who had a device that said he was doing 55 . Problem is he was going 15 in a school zone and got pegged at 55 . Texas judge was not easy on him .

I’ve seen a lot of people rip devices off their dash as I was issuing them their speeding ticket. If the officer is doing it right, it’s hard to beat the system.

I'm going to call ******** on most of this post.

Also, radar jammers are illegal and aren't very common. They also don't work that well.

What you mentioned above is a lidar jammer. It is not a radar jammer.

Speeding is a traffic offense and is in Title 32 of the revised statute. Reckless Operation is a criminal offense and is in Title 14. It's highly unlikely a cop is going to accidentally write 14:99 when he meant to put 32:whatever. And if he did it on purpose, there's a good chance his rank is going to catch it before it gets sent in. And if he doesn't catch it, traffic court will kick it back because it doesn't match. It's highly likely this story is also partially or mostly made up.

It’s of very popular opinion that cops should know when to break off a chase. Sometimes they don’t and innocents do get hurt or even die. Families of victims don’t go after the one being chased and it’s only tax dollars so there’s not a department that worries about the lawsuit. When anyone thinks it’s worth harming an innocent to catch a speeder it’s time to re-educate that person and maybe take them off duty until they can make grown up choices.

Sheet man, Deep down the popo want a little action like a good car chase.

I'd like to see a harpoon device thingy mounted on the hoods of pursuit vehicles...That would make for some good videos.

Some departments just shoot a GPS THING
And let you go on so it does, not endanger anyone in a chase.
That way the person slows down as tgey think they got away.

That's what I'm saying. What we are seeing here is a classic example of someone spewing a made up story to make them sound cool on the internet.
