Im looking for a .22 suppressor, I would like for it to be local and start on the paperwork soon. Im guessing its going to take anywhere from 60-180 days.

If anyone knows of one for sale in St Tammany please PM me.

    Thanks

So what other brands are not aluminum ?

Aluminum is not a big deal. Its actually preferable in a .22 can because of the ability to transfer heat. just my opinion.

While its still warm flush it out with some water and you'll be good to go. (Thanks Teddy) I just took one of mine apart after +10K and no problems

There are a few people on here who make and sell cans

there's nothing wrong w/ aluminum. w/ aluminum, you'll have a much lighter can. if you have a take-apart can (user serviceable) than i see no issues at all w/ aluminum. the only thing better would be titanium. but if it's not serviceable, yes, try to get a stainless steel one as it's more resistant to "the Dip".

+1 I have a TAC-65, too. You forgot to mention cheap.
To me, the more expensive cans do not outperform the TAC-65 enough to justify their (two or three times as much) cost.

I suggest you try several before you buy anything. And don't fall for any hype. Either decide based on independent research and information or on personal hands on experience.

If possible take your host gun and try different cans on it before you decide. Guns, cans, and ammo are all variables.

If someone claims their can is way quieter than a TAC-65 then I suggest you let them prove it. Their can may be slightly quieter. But, I'll bet you a donut that it won't be quieter AND cheaper than the TAC-65. You can decide if the extra quiet (if any) is worth the extra expense.

Whatever you get make sure you can take it apart and clean it. Dipping doesn't do it. Once you get one and take it apart you'll understand that the stuff that builds up in there will laugh at dipping.

You can PM me about my TAC-65 and if you're serious maybe we can meet somewhere and you can test drive it.

    EDIT:
To be fair the TAC-65 is a 22LR suppressor and is not rated for .223 or 22mag. I would recommend something different for full auto fire, too. The more exotic materials and expensive cans are better able to handle the rigors of full auto fire. If you want those capabilities then make sure you do your homework on whatever you buy.
