Gas for Guns

Tonight on the 10pm WBRZ news cast the anchor mentioned that several BR churches will be holding a event next week where they will trade gas cards for guns. More info to follow tommorrow.
I'm interested since I've been hanging onto a couple of broken, worn out guns waiting for a gun trade in day where I could get something for them.

I wonder if they're going to have anyone there that knows anything about firearms to ensure they're properly cleared and secured. if not, this could go south in a hurry. if they have an AD it will appear, at least to the rest of the ignorant masses, to justify what they're doing.

on the other hand, I wonder if my church could get in on that... we could volunteer to *dispose* of all the evil weapons, the cancer of society, harvested from the good people of baton rouge.

You need to remember that every time you turn in junk it gets listed as a real deangerous item that was removed from society, giving credence to the cause they are working on. Doesn't matter what it was, just that it was turned in and it makes the program look legitimate and needed.

The opposite, waiting for folks to show up with junk and buying it for a few bucks reduces the number of what gets turned in and makes the program look like wasted time. Much better idea.
