If you are stopped by a vehicle that you are not certain is a law enforcement vehicle, pull into a well-lighted and well-populated area, keep your doors and windows locked, and call 911 to verify the stop, the Sheriff’s Office said.

LOL, I don't stop for unmarked vehicles.

If a vehicle is unidentifiable as a marked patrol unit, the legal presumption under the castle doctrine/carjacking statute is the pursuer/p/persuers are there to FUBAR you. Use of deadly force is authorized by law.

That is really kinda funny. I have never been stopped by an unmarked vehicle. Do they do that many stops? I'm sure most of the time marked LEO do the normal traffic stuff.

I see unmarked POVs with blue flashers pulling over people out this way all the time. I've been told thats our resident narcotics unit. I'd be pissed if some ******* in a 2005 Expedition with a spare tire pulled me over.

I have on more than one occasion seen vehicles around the BR area that are equipped with blue flashers that are clearly NOT LE vehicles (personal license plates). They use the flashers to drive around other cars and go through red lights. Then suddenly the lights go off.

Unmarked vehicles often have "personal plates" also referred to as "dead plates". It is OK. People often assume the worst of leo. They were probably in hot pursuit of the Krispie Creme truck. Next time listen on your scanner so you can report it to IA.

    ;)

    Iop1.

My unmarked vehicle doesn't even remotely reseamble a police car. But then again, I'm not in the business of writing traffic tickets.

99.99% of the Unmarked Units in my area have the lights that go on the sun visor eventhough IMO is pretty obvious when you see a Malibu with the dark windows and the black looking rims or the C. Vic, yet to see one driving a YUGO.

This is absurd and focussed to females and for guys that pee sitting down.

IPSO has gotton very creative when it comes to uc. One of them is a dark purple Impala with rims.

Now that you mention IPSO I like the new Solid Black Crown Vics the Narcotics Unit got, they shouldnt have put the damm huge gold logo on it though.

Jeanarette Marshall got some purple Impala's not long ago, dark color looks almost black.

They stay on Hwy90 right pass the bridge.

anyone in an unmarked unit with sense will be aware that someone may fail to stop for them and will not take it as a personal affront. Likewise anyone in a marked unit with some braincells will typically head towards stops made by unmarked units.

Likewise, any private citizen with sense will, when doubtful about an unmarked unit stopping them, call 911 and confirm the identity of the vehicle. It may take a minute to check with all the city, parish, and state agencies but whoever you call will have a marked unit coming in the meantime. You can't just start shooting because you don't think they can put lights in a Honda, they can and have.

i got pulled over by a ford ranger in ascension because he was riding my ass while im doing 5 over the speedlimit and i gave him the bird.so he proceeds to turn on his lights, they honestly looked like firefighter lights so i wait until i get to a lighted 4 way stop and prepare to have a man to man talk with the supposed figherfighter and am informed that he was an undercover cop and i was going to get a ticket for evading etc. little does he know i was CC and his life was in extreme danger at 12:00 midnight pulling that stunt.long story short..i didnt get a ticket after some very strong words.but his ego put is life in jeopardy.

The question still hasn't been answered here! Am I supposed to stop for a car/truck/SUV with flashing lights, but in no way resembles a police unit?
