I gave with good heart, just trying to help someone out. I don't know what the real deal is but it really doesn't matter, I did it for the right reason.

I'd be pissed also if I was falsely accused. Whether any of it was a lie or not, he did not ask for the gun. And for the ones who said he should have donated to his family, the whole point of this was so he is not walking around unprotected. Of course the ones having negative comments will take their friends, right or wrong. "bandwagon" is a good word for it. I can't imagine myself acting this way after such a good deed had been done for me, by people that I don't even know on a personal level. I mean, considering your situation, I would be focused more on my family than arguing with and threatening the very community that came together to replace your only means of protection. Just seems very ungrateful. Someone called you out on the legitimacy of your situation, so what? This is to be expected for this type of senerio, being that you are pretty much a stranger to most of these guys. As long as you know that your being honest, who cares what others have to say? Like I said, you were given a very nice and very sought after piece in order to keep yourself and your family safe in this time of need and whether you asked for it or not, be grateful. I have never had something like this done for me, and hopefully will never need it, but I can only imagine how good it would feel to know that these guys cared enough about me and my family to do something like this for me. There is no way in hell that I would act the way you are acting, being in your shoes.
