      quick thought.....the Seminole Indians used to put four small logs with all four ends touching....like the N,S,E,W of a compass....when the American troops were heard coming near, they Seminoles would pull the logs away from each other to extinguish the fire...when trouble passed, they slid them...

      How long does salt keep for? Of course I know the container, outside moisture, etc matter. If you know specifics, I would be interested. You know, you can actually use salt to brush your teeth with. It doubles as an abrasive to help clean them. Sounds funny, but if you're in a pinch....
