I have a dead air wolfman in jail that i was planning to use on a 9mm carbine, but with the time i've had sitting here waiting i started thinking that a 300 Blackout build for the same can would be pretty cool. I'd like to shoot it with subs mostly for plinking and some close range hog control...
I should say it will take a while for me to get comfortable shooting at an animal past 300 yards. I want this to be a 600+ meter rifle. Just gonna take some time for me to learn it and get comfortable.
Thanks so much guys. Longest distance i would say is 600 meters or so... It's going to take some time for me to get comfortable shooting anything past 300.
Gentlemen:
I have always wanted to set up a serious long range rifle, but could never justify spending the amount of money it takes to do so. Long story short, i came into a bunch of 300 win mag ammo for free and now definitely have the need lol. I know it's ass backwards to set up a rifle...
I have decided i'm going to purchase an AAC SDN-6. I have the rifle and it is already fitted with an AAC brake that will accept the can.
Now here's where i have absolutely no idea what to do.
1. I know i want to use a trust for all of my NFA items, but i don't have one set up yet and i'm...
No, fortunately we get the gun for free with the job. Honestly though, to think an LEO can afford a potentially $1000 weekend once a month or even once every two months is absurd. I suppose if i saved all the ammo i shoot monthly and only shot on that weekend i could manage to shoot once every 6...
It was all a legit query. As an officer (with our laughable pay) it's pretty tough to be able to afford 800 round count weekends. Contrary to popular belief, our departments don't pay for unlimited ammo. I shoot as much as i can on a limited budget, but 800 round weekends aren't in the budget...
Not to thread hi-jack, but I happen to be a cop and would enjoy a list of the free classes you speak of. Hopefully the free classes come with ammo. Feel free to PM.
I don't know if any of you have ever taken any of the VATA classes, but i'm signed up for one in October. I've heard lots of good things about them and i'm pretty excited. Not only is it going to be some good training, but I get to put a bunch of rounds through my new rifle!
