S&W M&P45 full size 1.0 when I carry a .45, but I'm comfortable with 9x19 or .40...or .38 +p, or .357 Mag. My remaining 1911 (Colt Series 70 Combat Commander) is pretty much relegated to safe queen status. On occasion, I'll carry my S&W M22-4.
The name of the class was "Aim Fast, Hit Fast". I kinda doubt that Todd would argue that one should use those techniques at bad breath distances. :) Just another reason to take another class. :D
Y'all mind if I post an AAR here amidst all the wailing and gnashing of teeth? ;)
I've only seen one person post what he hoped to get out of the class, so I'll add what my goals were. I wanted, first of all, to get my grip unscrewed. I went from the thumbs-locked-down grip of a dedicated...
FWIW, I asked him if I could bring my Beretta so we could work on some grip issues I was having (since I changed to a thumbs-forward grip, I occasionally hold down the slide release), in addition to the M&P 45 I originally planned on using, and he had no problem with it. He probably misses...
+1 on the electronic ears.
Also, a back up gun would be good, if you have one. It'd be a drag if your primary broke (it happens) and you didn't have another one with which to complete the course. It's one of those "better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it" things...
Folks - Has anyone worked up a load for these? I've got data from Darrell for WSF and TG, but that's about it. Looking to use them in an M&P, Beretta, SIG P6, and a couple of CZ-75Bs, need to make at least a 130 PF.
Thanks!
I'd be interested if he got back the same serial numbered gun. Since it's been well used, if they replaced it with a new, blued version, I wouldn't fuss!
In the price range you're looking for, I'd recommend a Glock 26 or an M&P9 Compact. Both are reliable and accurate. I prefer the S&W, mainly because the Glock points high in my 1911-trained hands.
