      Interestingly enough....in Texas you actually CAN shoot to defend your property. I have a friend who had hunting property near Dallas who drove up on thieves stealing stuff from his shed. He unloaded on them with his pistol. One was shot, no one killed, but police cleared him, no charges...

      Thanks aard... I shot a friend's 10mm, and actually I like the way it shoots. Of course, as far as handguns go and general recreational shooting, I only shoot fullsize guns anyway. Diving into the more concealable gun market is something I never really took seriously before now....

      .357 magnum - S&W 686 .44 magnum - Ruger Super Redhawk Deafdave: I have a Marlin 1894 in .44 magnum. I believe Winchester still makes one too...both are lever action, tube magazine...your dad probably had one of those. It is sweet...the easiest way to shoot that monster pistol round!!!

      I've heard a lot about the SP series...in particular the SP101 for CCW if going the revolver route. I like .357 magnum a lot...and of course it's easy to train with .38 spl or lighter loaded magnum rounds.
