      Still waiting on permit

Keep trying to call. There have been numerous situations mentioned on this forum where someone didn't get a license in the mail and when they finally got though on the phone the SP said it had been returned or had been lost in the mail.

Wait time for prints at LSP headquarters

It really depends on time of day. When I did mine I got there about 10:30 and it took right at two hours because the place was very busy. I had two coworkers who went and showed up when the doors opened and they were done in 15 minutes, so the early bird does get the worm.

Places to buy Hodgdon powder in Shreveport

Any place besides Bass Pro? They are always sold out of the good stuff like H110 and Titegroup and HP-38. I can order it online but the Hazmat fee is a pain in the butt. Anyone know of others places local to buy Hodgdon powder in the Shreveport/Bossier area?

is a revolver a good choice for a first time gun owner?

My first pistol over 30 years ago was a .357 revolver. I remember it scared the **** out of me the first time I fired it with warm loads. I got used to it after a while and then recently got back into shooting as a sport and for self defense and I have until recently been shooting and carrying...

      10 mm or 45 acp

10mm will eat a hole in your wallet to own it. Get the .45 if you want to have reasonable ammo prices.

      The average CCW issue time?

I wish I could figure out the magic formula for the mail out time. I've been looking through the forums and it seems that a lot folks here get theirs after approval email within 5 days. I know they say 10-15 but I'm just curious what everyone else's experience is, and what it's based on, such...

      The average CCW issue time?

I'm sitting in the a State Police headquarters right now waiting on fingerprints. I checked in with the CCW desk on my app while here and within 5 minutes I had my email saying app was accepted and to submit payment. Definately faster to do app online and come here for prints.

      The average CCW issue time?

I originally mailed my prints in 2 weeks ago, but I think I'm going to go down tomorrow and get them done electronically to speed the process along. I submitted my application via the web, might as well eliminate the paper fingerprint problems. It's likely they haven't even opened the envelope...
