I'm looking to change Primary Care doctors and am looking for some input for who the BSers in the Baton Rouge are use. I know you can get on healthgrades and look up reviews, but I'm looking for anything else you can offer. How likely am I to get an appointment within a couple of days, would I...
Not a dogwood...looks like it's probably a Bradford Pear. I didn't know people had much success growing dogwoods this far south. Do you have experience planting them?
Posting to "off-topic" for visibility. Around BR there are a ton of medium-sized trees that have white blossoms that bloom this time of year. They're all over the place...yards, boulevard medians, parking lots. They're deciduous, a bit larger than a crepe myrtle, with a single, large trunk...
You misread....3-5% over invoice. I recently found out Ford offers X-plan pricing for my company, which less than 1% over invoice (I saw it) and I can get the rebates on top of that. Ends up knocking about $8.5k off MSRP.
Sorry to dig up this old thread, but I had a thought. I'm shopping around for a 2013 model truck still on the new lots right now. If I were to take the "3-5% over invoice minus rebates" approach, would the invoice they show me be the original invoice from 2012? How would I account for the car...
Glad to hear that. There's a lot of money in AP, relative to the population. The more I hear from people I ask these questions to, the more I realize that the private schools around here aren't great and certainly aren't a guarantee that your child will be a genius.
IMO, no doubt, if you could get exactly what you want, no risk involved, I think the magnet/gifted schools are the best Baton Rouge has to offer. We'd have ours on the magnet/gifted track in EBR if it were a safe bet to get there. The best option for me is probably to use the grandparents BR...
With a three year old starting pre-K next school year, my wife and I are looking into our options for schooling. We were a bit pro-active and built a house in Central (we're both from Central), so that the worst we can do is Central public schools. We considered moving into BR (or using a BR...
There are plenty of parents out there who seem to take for granted that some kids respond to discipline much better than others and perhaps they just lucked out. Sure, they'll have to whip their kids and put them in time out and they feel like hard-ass parent's who have this discipline thing...
Good point, I didn't want to do the legwork. I'd still personally prefer to build a foundry out of maybe some carbon steel piping w/cap and a charcoal lighter. I'd hate to see OP ruin a good kiln by damaging the refractory.
Also watch out for bending over the crucible and dripping sweat into it...the water will quickly vaporize and creat a similar pop. Similar to how grease fires start when you get water in there....but...you know...molten metal on the face. By the way, wear a hood.
In addition to firing ceramics, according to Wikipedia:
To dry green lumber so it can be used immediately
Drying wood for use as firewood
Heating wood to the point of pyrolysis to produce charcoal
For annealing, fusing and deforming glass, or fusing metallic oxide paints to the surface of glass...
