I heard a presentation by a Domestic Violence Specialist with the Lafourche Parish Sheriff''s Office last week. What I posted is my understanding of what is going on in Lafourche Parish. I deleted the post since I was attempting to have a serious discussion about gun control tactics. I am not...

      Anybody have a 3d printer?

Just an fyi. The Lafourche Parish Library has a 3D printer in the main branch in Thibodaux. I think the cost is only for the media used in the printing. Check with your local library.

Put Up or Shut Up! Again! Best Chance for Constitutional Carry is Now!

The Louisiana Legislature has a history of not overriding the governor's veto. There have been less than a handful of veto overrides since Roemer was governor. No chance for the legislature to override a veto of Constitutional Carry legislation. It would be fun to watch some of the...

Put Up or Shut Up! Again! Best Chance for Constitutional Carry is Now!

Dan is correct. If the bill gets out of the House Committee, IF it passes the entire legislative process, JBE would never sign it. No reason to spend time, money or political capital on the issue if it has no chance of becoming law. Do not confuse my pragmatic opinion that it does not stand a...

How did you guys miss HB424?

I am not an attorney. Dan is correct. It would return the law to essentially where we were prior to stand your ground. You had a duty to retreat if you could prior to using deadly force.

Best Holster for Tucked in Shirt

Alien Gear tuckable holster with velcro clips from Crossbreed. Works very well with a S&W M&P Shield in .40 cal. Alien Gear holster is flatter than Crossbreed. Alien Gear does not make Velcro clips. Put the two together for carry at 5 o'clock for all day comfort and concealment. Nothing...

      WTB Lead Casting Equipment

I don't know anything about casting bullets. Someone may have a set up they are willing to sell/trade. Would like to cast 180 grain round nose for .40 S&W round. Let me know what you have. Thanks for looking.

      Less recoil

I asked the same question to a nuclear physicist. His response was, for a given power factor, less powder equals less felt recoil. More powder equals more felt recoil. It takes less powder for a 180 grain bullet to make 125 PF than it does for a 147 grain bullet to make 125 PF. Based on that...

Concealed(or open) carry in restaurants that serve alcohol.

Below is LA RS 14:95.5 for reference. Among other things, it addresses possessing a firearm in accordance with a concealed handgun permit issued under RS 40:1379.1(Parish Permit) or 40:1379.3(State Permit) in a restaurant that serves alcohol for consumption on the premises. This statute was...

Mt. Hermon student arrested after cops allegedly find .357 revolver in car

It seems the only issue is whether or not the serial number is obliterated. If it is, then 14:95.7 is the only charge. If it is readable, then from the information that is public, no law was violated. Why the arrest? Unlawful and against school policy are two entirely different things...

      NRA Endorses Cassidy for Senator

The conventional wisdom is the only way Landrieu can win is if she wins in the first primary. With a runoff in December, the turnout will be low. Republicans tend to be more cronic voters than Democrats and will more than likely out vote the Democrats in the run-off. Vote for you preference...

      Contact your senator today!

Dan, Thanks for what you and the LSA do in the Legislature. I know first hand how difficult it is to deal with the different egos and agendas to get anything accomplished, especially a hot button issue like expanding gun rights. Everyone in the gun rights communiy owes you a debt of...
