      Leupold Delta Point Micro

I guess I'm speaking a foreign language or something. You said that you shot with one. You should know what I'm talking about. Like I said. Leave both eyes open. Could you see through the tube? Pfft.

      Leupold Delta Point Micro

I thought it was pretty cool. I don't know what was meant by the above reference to a sight picture. You should shoot it like any other red dot, with both eyes open. Still, there is no "looking through the tube," it's too small for that. On the upside, it requires no permanent modifications to...

      Red Dot

Although there are many that are likely capable, my goto cheap red dot is the sig romeo5. It gets pretty dim, as well as very bright.

      Diamondback DB15 5.56 NATO

Larue mbt is a really good bang for the buck.

      Holosun 407k or 507k?

I have a 407k and if I had it to do over again, I'd get the smaller dot. With the smaller dot, you can always turn it up to make it seem larger. There's no making the larger dot smaller unless you dim it down so you can hardly see it. I suppose you would need to take a hard look at what you'll...

      Arken EP5 experience?

I don't own any arken scopes, but they are popular at my range and I've shot with several. I can't say anything as to how tough they are. I've never gone humping around with one, nor would I want to. They are heavy. For they price, they are very nice and perfect for a range gun. Just don't...

      Vortex Strikefire 1x6x24

Strikefire or strike eagle? I'm gonna assume strike eagle. I've never been impressed by those, but I may be spoiled. Still, I think the Gen I PST 1-4x is a better buy, if you can live with the turrets.

      Best Optic for a AR15

I think the absolute best buy in an LPVO right now is the Gen I Vortex PST 1-4x. At around 250, you can't beat it. Eurooptics has them. Next step up in price, but not quality would be the rt6, which is a very good scope with a 6x top end. Up from there would be the Steiner p4xi with p3tr...

      Spare parts for AR platform

Just don't cheap out on small parts. The little springs and pins are what keep the AR running. I usually get them from BCM, FCD or the like.

      Spare parts for AR platform

Yeah, an easy way to do it is to just have a complete BCG as a back up. 99% of what can/will go wrong can be fixed by replaced the BCG. There are grips that will fit a complete bolt in them.

      ar handguard suggestions needed

I'll second dirty bird from ar15discounts.com. I've used plenty of them. I did just pick up a ballistic advantage logic handguard on sale for just over 100. Very nice and the atlas lockup is solid.

Gunsmith in and around Baton Rouge or just anywhere really?

Atonguis, have you considered Don Geraci in Independence? He's mostly retired now, but he's still doing some work, or at least that's what I heard. Try googling him. He did a couple of 700s for me a while back. He does really good work. As for the pinning and welding, I decided I was tired of...

Gunsmith in and around Baton Rouge or just anywhere really?

Wow, nice. All I was suggesting was that atonguis inquire about the cost because it might wind up costing a good bit more than he thought it would. In response to the personal attack, no, I'm not an expert welder, but I can certainly weld over a 1/16" blind hole. I'm displaced right now and...

Gunsmith in and around Baton Rouge or just anywhere really?

I called Ruelet today about getting a couple of muzzle devices welded. I told them that the muzzle devices were already torqued and timed, barrels dimpled and the pins were already made ready to be welded over. Essentially, all I needed was about 2 minutes of welding done. I was quoted $70 each...

      Pew Pew That's a 22 {post your 22LR AR's Thread

The one on the bottom is my .22. The muzzle device stops even with the end of the 10" handguard...https://photos.app.goo.gl/K9M4Akowh81jMCcr7 Built on a Spike's lower, generic milspec upper, CMMG 9" barrel and bolt. It's a kick to shoot. I fixed it for ya

      GLOCKS

Based on an article that I read, for those Glocks manufactured in the U.S., that means the slide, barrel and frame are made here in the U.S., but all materials for the manufacturing process come from Austria. All other parts come from Austria.

      Another M4/M16 Reliability Thread

Oh, and as for keeping her wet, I know more than a few guys running some sort of synthetic auto lube and seem to be having good luck with it. I've been running Slip 2000 EWL for the last six months or so. I really like it. I don't know if it has anything to do with how long my rifles will...

      Questions on Ruger 10/22

Maybe a little late, but if you are considering getting a 10/22, just get it. It is a fun little rifle and the upgrade path has no end. There are also lots of upgrades that you can do for little or no cost, if you search around the rimfire forums. The only word of caution that I can offer...

      Another M4/M16 Reliability Thread

Just for purposes of this discussion, I'd have to say that I disagree with the statement regarding ARs needing lube, cleaning and good magazine because any rifle that you are going to trust your life to needs those things. I really don't agree with the part about the AR needing lube. What I...

      What scope does everyone recomend

That Zeiss is a really nice scope. I just sold one, after having had it for a couple of years. Don't let the fact that it's only a 1" tube fool you. It has excellent low light capabilities and the glass is crystal clear. That price posted above is a good one. I think I paid around $500 for...
