I use trimble outdoors backpacker gps trails lite. You can set guide trails that stay up on your map at all time, topo maps, satellite imagery, and other overlays. i have tracks from every hunt I made this past season saved for future reference. Best of all, its free. I personally swear by it...
Got off to a slow start out there this year, but I've killed 4 this season, 130lb boar in november, 110lb boar in december, a 60lb sow and a 170+lb boar in january. I made a lot of efforts early on though. I use the trails to get back there most of the time, then go way deeper in. each day out...
Great info, I had no idea. I'm going to look into the .45/.410 barrel. Just picked up a .45-70 Handi a few weeks back for Primitive this year myself. I borrowed one from a coworker last season and fell in love with it. It kicks, but I'm a big guy so it's not that big of a problem for me. I hunt...
I've been hunting Honey Island every weekend in the month of Oct. for hogs and only come across one. With as much people that are out there, they are some wise hogs at this point. Looking forward to being out there with a rifle instead of a 12 gauge with BB steel though. I got no tips other than...
bummer, I just bought a brand new one from academy for 300+ tax last thursday! Took it out to Honey Island last weekend and had a blast with it. Good luck with the sale.
Funny, I just MD'd for the first time today. Went out to Lincoln Beach and Ponchartrain beach on the south shore with a buddy. Didn't find anything worth mentioning besides some clad... Had a blast though, may have to invest in a detector now... That is if I can convince the fiance!
Went out there with some friends Saturday afternoon, had a good time. Took a sheet of ballistic paneling out there and everything we brought couldn't get through it! Left it out there for someone else to try and puncture. panel 1, us 0.
^^ THIS! I've been thinking the same thing. If there is one thing you don't mess around with its trains. I spent 5 years or so riding freight around the country and seen a lot of people do stupid stuff and pay the price.
Watched a few episodes this morning, pretty neat show. I often find myself fixing the mistakes made by other people so it's nice to know I'm not alone. I've seen some pretty terrible workmanship in some of these buildings here in New Orleans.
Living in New Orleans has me shaking my head at the litter each day. What possesses someone to throw a giant bag of half eaten mcdonalds trash on the sidewalk 8 feet from a trashcan, I'll never know. I see people dropping cups and bottles and bags of trash out their car windows at stop lights...
