"Quieter" being an understatement. .357 mag out of a long barrel is stupid quiet *without* a can. You almost don't need earpro.
Conversely, my Dad has the exact same rifle I do but in .44 mag. His sounds like artillery.
Saw a FB post from Seven Hills Antifa (the Richmond local 'chapter') with a Marx quote stating "the workers shall not be disarmed" as justification. Streamers said there were 150-200 of them in a separate area but I only ever saw four of them on the streams.
Guillotine is not even a little bit excessive, Dave. Neither would have been the tar & feathers merchant cart. To be completely honest I would have wanted to shake his hand for lugging a 30 lb rifle around for 4 hours. I heard rumor that guy owns a gun store in upstate New York but i've not...
My $0.02.5 adjusted-for-inflation pennies..
I've got a Mossberg 500 that probably has a couple thousand shells down the pipe by now. It's over a decade old and it's never failed to do what I was telling it to. You can change that plastic tang safety out for about 20 bucks.
I've got one of these and I love it. Just a vote of confidence for the above.
Miscverb: I passed your ad along to my assistant. He's in desperate need of a new scope but he's not a member here. If he wants it I'll drop you a line. We're both local.
Tboy: I pondered having it drilled and tapped but I figured since the factory was milling dovetails on other 61s it was just an option that never got applied to this particular serial number. I'd rather have it retain factory looks but I haven't entirely ruled out drilling & tapping for a scope...
So I expect to be crucified for this post but I figure you all are the best source so I'll take whatever rocks are thrown.
I have a 1953-manufactured Winchester 61 that I inherited from my grandfather when he passed. Three generations of my family learned how to shoot with this rifle and...
Sorry, I clicked the wrong reply button. I was intending to reply to Cdaniel76. First trip to Honey Island was Sunday. I took the opportunity to put in an application to the Louisiana Shooting Assn. while I was there.
If anyone else was there noonish on Sunday I was the guy with the rivet...
Well, 33.2 gig just took me 40 minutes on a bleeding edge of 2008 computer. I just did it because I just had one go down. One guy could handle the uploading. It would take 2 minutes max per bodycam to plug it in, have the computer recognize a usb camera device, and begin the transfer. Oh, but...
You made me spit Sam Adams on my tablet. Now it's not working right. :p
The previous statement of mine was in response to the guy on page 7 if anyone is wondering.
I'm no electronics whiz but I gather it would be relatively simple to integrate rfid integration into the bodycams, i.e. when the officer exits the vehicle, the camera triggers. For walking patrols, constant - on would have to be policy. No real way around that.
It's not the combat boots, its not the rifles, and its not the tasers I am concerned with. It is the tactics and the attitude. At one time police officers were considered servants of the community. Now they are its enforcers. Used to be when you passed a police officer and waved they would...
For water storage I don't buy any special containers. I use the jugs that cat litter comes in. They hold about 2.5 gallons and are #2 hdpe plastic. You will need to get some o rings or cut gaskets for the lids, though, otherwise they will leak.
Hey everyone! Since I'm back home (permanently)I decided to re-register and come see what all of you troublemakers are up to. I used to be RaginCajun here, before I lost my login info. I'm a friend of Nomad's (don't hold that against me) and I built my first AKS with #1bambam and rockmup way...
