    OFFICIAL MATCH REPORT
HIGH POWER RIFLE 80 SHOT REGIONAL MATCH FORMAT
    MATCH DATE 15 NOVEMBER 2014
MATCH DIRECTOR JOSEPH C. MEYNIER III

Nine competitors all using the AR-15 braved a 32 degree starting temperature and constantly changing light but as Dwayne Vidrine stated “It turned out to be a pretty good day to shoot.” Much like the September match winds blew down range with a slight ¼ to ½ value right quartering but otherwise straight down range. The light condition changed from overcast to sunny to very smoky to bright, broken overcast. It will be noted with some irony that the wind was dead calm during the 600 yard relay swap. Dwayne Vidrine took high overall with a 764-17. In the combined Master/Expert class Bruce Pickering topped it with a 741-10 and in the combined Sharpshooter/Marksman class Tony Geeck won with a 10 point lead over his closest competitor with a 717-8.
My thanks to Bruce Pickering and Warren Freeman for running the pits and to Hank Ellis for pulling double duty on target 8 in order to even out the line.

The next match is the annual non-approved Pearl Harbor/Battle of the Bulge match scheduled for 20 December 2014. This is your chance to compete with that old, stock military rifle that you don’t shoot often enough. Even if you don’t have an unmodified vintage military rifle feel welcomed to come out and compete with your year-round rifle. PAR&PC rules apply so all rifles must be 600 yard capable which means unfortunately no M1 Carbines. Bring a friend. Bring an old .30 and a sturdy coat and get a respectful appreciation for what our boys had to endure in December of 1944. See you on the 20th!
