14.5" AR-15 Barrel Legal???

Would like to install a 14.5" barrel on my AR. Is it legal to install this with a 1.5" long flash hider to make the 16" legal minimum?

The muzzle device has to be pinned (or welded) as to make it "permanent" or impossible to easily remove.

Look into VooDoo Innovations Manimal flash hider.
It allows removal of gas block and barrel nut after pin/weld due to being slightly smaller diameter than typical barrel.

This. And keep in mind the threads are around 5/8" long, so a flash hider that was 1.5" long would only add less than an inch to the barrel length once mounted. Most muzzle devices that are appropriate for 14.5" pinning are specifically listed as such.
