I took my 1911 apart to install a Wilson beavertail grip safety. I can't remove the damn thumb safety because I decocked the hammer before removing the mainspring housing. I think the spring may have moved because now the hammer will not stay cocked. Anyone know how I can remove the thumb safety so I can try to reseat the spring?

Nope, somehow I managed to just barely move the sear spring up enough to prevent the hammer from coming back far enough to allow me to take off the thumb safety. Pulled the spring out, reinstalled it, and everything was good to go after that. Not sure how I managed to do it, but I did :). Finished result...
