2 stolen pistols- new roads area

I live in a small town. I was laying in bed dozing off and I realized I left a POS revolver in the center console of my Pick up truck. I hauled my ass out of bed and brought it inside. I couldn't bear the thought of some convenience store clerk getting killed with my gun and I wouldn't want his family suing my ass for making a gun available to thugs. Now I know people will say "They'll never win a law suit like that" but if some liberal lawyer takes the case for free it'll still cost me a few thousand in legal fees just to make it go away.
