Oh, it's on, my little pit bull Jeff, is coming with one goal,.....Be the man!
    It's going to be fun.
I'm shooting "production", it's new for me, in fact this will be my first match in that class. I need to quit fighting my failing eye sight and go "open" class, I can't see my front sight clearly anymore. That might be in my future.
Anyway, see you around 8:15 a.m..

Updating the 2010 Gator - only about 70 shooter slots left before we fill up. You local guys and gals better get your entries in ASAP. If you have never been to the shoot it is one hell of a good time.

It's ON, let the smak talking begin.

The stages are up and the ground is in good shape (dry enough to shoot). Bring plenty of drinks, it will be hot. We will have water but bring more. Get there by 0830 so we can start on time. If folks don't come in until 0900 we will be that much longer on the range.

Should be a good match as with all the folks coming in. See Ya'll There.

May be the wrong thread but I plan on "being the man" at the gator too. The rest of the average-to-poor open shooters better hold on to their shorts!

I was told since I was Section Champ in Single Stack a couple years ago, that I must defend that title. So..............Single Stack it is.

I shot my 9mm Trojan recently in Single Stack, which is what I'd recommend. You will be scored minor in either SS or L10, but in SS you might have a little edge in 9mm if you have 10 rd mags compared to the 45s; everybody in L10 has 10 rounders. That's my theory and I'm sticking with it. :D

That logic works as long as you're using a SS legal holster, otherwise it's L10 for ya.

Thanks for the info. What is a legal holster? I was just going to make one out of kydex, probably something geared towards carrying rather than competition.

If it's geared toward carry, you will probably be good to go.

From USPSA rulebook, Appendix D5, 20, these are the requirements for holster to be legal for use in SS:

•Suitable for everyday use. “Race gun” type holster
    prohibited.
•Must carry pistol so that the entire front strap (to the
trigger guard) is at or above the top of the belt.
Female shooters must carry the pistol no lower than
the heel of the butt at the top of the belt.
•May not be manufactured or cut lower than, and
must cover the slide up to, ½” below the ejection port
(belt slide “Yaqui” type holster exempt).

So what class would a factory STI Trojan in 9mm fall under? No modifications done.

I would shoot it in single stack. At least you have a bit of some help for shooting minor by being able to load 10 rounds versus 8 for major in Single stack. In limited-10 everyone is shooting 10 rounds so you will be severely disadvantaged.

I agree with Spanky. There are some stages where there is an advantage to having 10 rounds in the gun. Like anything with steel. And if you shoot all alphas, it won't matter...
