Woooo Hooo.....made it and ready to go. Stage #1 is sponsored by Barrett. The shooter who engages and hits 6 targets between 382 and 802yds with the fastest time will win a brand new 98B in .338lm! Going over the course of fire booklet this evening is making it obvious why they're calling this one "The Grind".

Ya, I tried to do some homework with the course of fire. I only made it through a couple stages and then got worn out just from looking at it.

Here is the deer that hit us leaving the range. And yes, I did say it hit us.

    Great weekend for a picnic

940yd target, varying winds, mid-day mirage, 5 shots. Clear off the ham sandwich, potato salad, ice tea and get to it.

What an awesome weekend it was! The weather was perfect (for me) and I have to say that even though I learned some hard lessons at this match, I left it smiling having had a great time "grinding it out." Definitely the most physically demanding match I've ever been to. One stage started with a 200yd sprint into your rifle for a 100yd prone shot at an ace of spades....with a time limit of 55 seconds. Another consisted of a 170yd run with all your gear (50lbs worth) engaging 5 different targets along the way at various distances from various positions only to finish off with a +200yd OFFHAND shot at a 66% IPCS steel target with just over 3 minutes to get it done. It was all doable, but still pushed the limits of even the SF guys attending the match. Targets ranged from 100yds all the way out to 940yds and K&M moved 80 shooters through it all without one incident. They have truly become a world class range and facility!
