I've read that the actual penetrator is about the size of a #2 pencil lead piece that has broken off. Any truth to this?

It's not big but works.

I have been using the PP 75 grain stuff and works really well, holds a 3" group at 200 yards prone with irons so it is definitely good stuff and a good assembly line.
