    Dear Mr. _________:

Thank you for contacting the Governor’s Office regarding Second Amendment rights. Rest assured that the Governor takes your concerns very seriously.

The United States Constitution guarantees the right of the people to keep and bear arms. Governor Jindal is proud to protect law abiding citizens’ Constitutional right to bear arms and defend their lives, families, and property and will remain a firm advocate for Second Amendment rights. As a Congressman, Governor Jindal introduced and successfully passed legislation that prevents the confiscation of firearms from law abiding citizens in the wake of natural disasters.

As a strong supporter of Constitutional gun rights, the Governor believes it is wrong to use a tragedy such as a school shooting to undermine the Second Amendment. Any action or executive order from the White House to restrict responsible, law-abiding citizens' access to firearms and ammunition without Congress is abuse of the President’s authority. Instead, Governor Jindal supports common-sense legislation that will protect our kids and keep guns out of the hands of the seriously mentally ill through enhanced mental health reporting standards.

In addition to efforts by the Governor to protect the Second Amendment, I would encourage you to contact your United States Senators and Representatives to share your concerns and ask that they continue to be an advocate for the upholding of these rights.

Please continue to share your thoughts and concerns with the Governor, and feel free to contact our office with any future concerns you may have. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this matter.

    Sincerely,

    /s/ Christina Grantham

Got it as well. I also heard that Bill Cassidy might be running against a certain Mary Landrieau :)
