I have hunted with a 30-30 and like it. I was thinking about buying a .35 Remington. Wondering about the pros and cons of the cartridge .

Very similar rounds. If you already have a 30-30, I probably wouldn't move to the .35

    Have you considered a 30-06 or a .308?

On paper 30-30 and 35 Rem aren't too far apart. Inside of 100yds your talking a 150-170gr bullet versus the 200gr 35rem. Either will work great but that 35 seems to hit like a sledgehammer.

    Awesome calibers I like them both. I have a 30-06 in a 760 pump and a .308 in a 742 carbine. I dont have a .35 Remington though

With these two cartridges, you have everything you need in true rifle cartridges, IMO. I'd personally stick with those and call it good, but I definitely understand.

If I were to obtain a rifle chambered in a .35-caliber cartridge, I'd go with the .35 Whelen, and no less. .358" bullets are heavy and do well in front of a dose of powder from the .30-06 case.

I TRULY understand the draw, the magnetism, of many other cartridges! LOL
