It's Taurus revolver good. It'll serve you well for hunting. Although I bet someone around here is carrying one for CCW everyday. Or at least that's what they'll tell us.
Seriously Gun Tests Magazine gave it an "A" rating in March 2008.
Well. Buffalo Bore lists the ragin bull as well as the large frame Smiths, Ruger Blackhawks and Redhawks, and Dan Wesson as the guns that can handle their powerful big game hunting rounds.
They are good heavy caliber revolvers from all I have read.
Personally, from what I have read, anything heavier than a 44 magnum is not practical in a handgun. Most gun magazine reviewers state the .44 magnum is the limit of practicality for handguns and the 44 mag. with the proper ammo can hunt any of North Americas largest game, including Grizzlys.
Had a Taurus 44 mag - good gun with no issues, but my S&W 460 does not recoil all that much more and is flatter shooting. I find that both are somewhat hard to conceal with shorts and a tee shirt.....
