Running out of Bullseye powder so I got a 4# canister of 700x from La. Reloading Saturday. Have used Bullseye, Unique or W231 since I began reloading in 79 or 80. Load 38special wadcutters, 158 gr 357Magnum and 45acp 230gr rn lead. Using 230gr Green Bayou Bullits. Have never used 700X but due to the shortage of powder, find myself trying new or older powders if I want to shoot... Looks like 4.5 to 5gr of 700X should perform similar to Bullseye. Think I'll start with 4.8gr and a 230gr RN Bayou Bullit. Any advice or pointers from anyone more familiar with the powder is welcomed. Mostly falling plate, target shooting and plinking.

700X is an excellent 45 powder. Lyman Manual shows starting load at 4.0 and max at 5.0 gr.
I use it in my Bullseye Pistol with a 200 SWC.

Finally got around to loading some 45 acp with the 700X. Using the Bayou Bullet 230gr RN with 4.1 gr is a nice slow accurate load at around 700fps. Very similar to Bullseye except for the metering of the powder.
