just a suggesttion but what about calling at some of the indoor range to see what guns they have as rentals in 45acp so you can try before you sink $$$ into pistol and mags.

Looking to get another 45 acp other than a 1911. Any suggestions. Price point 6-800. Looking for a good and accurate shooter. I know there's a lot out there but just want to hear from people about what's out there. Again needs to be accurate. Don't want a spray pistol that can't group worth a crap.

    How does it shoot.

Makes holes. Top was the girlfriend slow fire @ 7 yards, bottom was me shooting as soon as I could find the front post half at 7 yards, other half at 12 yards. Recoil is quite manageable. I like it.

Going to do a few mags of slow fire within the next day or so.

Nice. I have a couple SA myself. Loaded 1911 and my baby xds bitone 45 goes everywhere with me. That is my favorite carry pistol I have.

I have both an M&P 45 and a FNX 45. Both are great guns. The FNX has 15 Rd mags and is pretty darn accurate out of the box. If you wanted to stop up a notch I agree with others on the HK 45 series.

This is me at 7 yards with my glock when I was sighting it in. The bottom index card is after it had been sighted in. Spray glue and colored index cards are really nice to use for speed shooting.

I enjoy my G21 and M&P 45, both well under that price range. Usually I throw price out, in favor of what do I get for my money. I din't find much advantage in anything that was more expensive than either of mine. I like how the XD shoots, but it isn't as comfortable to me as my M&P. HK and Sig are nice if you need to spend more money just to do it.
May get a good 45c m&p at a good price. Does it shoot well.

Walmart, it's just adhesive spray. It is usually in the crafts section. That is an idea that vanilla gorilla gave me.

I have to throw another vote in there for the Glock 21. I grew up shooting a 1911. (Not a lot of shooting, but that's what my dad taught me with, then I bought my own.) I decided to by a used G21 just to try out the "polymer" thing. Now I shoot all polymer and my 1911's sit on the shelf.

I don't shoot it as much as my 17, but the G21 is my favorite Glock. I am actually going deer hunting with it the next few weekends. Besides being really accurate the 21 is a soft shooter. My wife never liked my 1911's, but from the first mag she took to the 21. That even though it is a Gen 3 with the big grips.

My recommendation would be to go to a range that has a Gen 4 21 and 41. See which you like the best. I will likely pick up a 41 in the future.
