If your not looking for an organized ride, and just wanna drive offroad check out Catahoula Recreation in Sicily Island, La. But as posted above, Louisianaoffroad.com is where rides are often organized, usually once a month or so.
www.louisianaoffroad.com can help..
Ive been there 10-15 times in the past two years. Its a great place to ride, especially if you know the property. Kinda sketchy at first when your not familiar, because a class 1 turns into a class 5 really quick at a wrong turn. What all is done to his rig?
He will want a winch if going alone. I rode most of the park with a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with 2.5 in lift and 32's, but it struggled. Bigger lift and 35's and its a litle better. Still Tough out there. You can push it as hard as you want to, or just drive along all the by-passes and main road trails.
You can buy Engo winches cheap and they are a good price for what you get.. remember SI can get slimy fast, and if they have caught any rain , dont bother..
Feel free to sign up on LAO and ask around..
Engo, Smittybilt, Mile Marker, Rugged Ridge, Quadratec branded...... All can be had for around $300. Ive had a Smitybilt on my JKU for 2 years now and its never failed me, and ive put it through some extremely tough pulls.
