So, I'm 20 days past spinal surgery, and HAD TO get out of the house.
So I talked my sister into taking me out for lunch, and I'd buy her's
"NATURALLY" we had to hit a couple pawn shops coming back. (me limping in there with a cane)
And there was this 5" N frame sitting there looking all lonely.
This is a model 544 in 44/40, commemorative model. It's got one nick, and a couple scratches on the grip, no finish wear, and I've probably 2x'd the faint cylinder drag line dry firing it. Fortunately/unfortunately some jackass had the hammer and cylinder polished. (and an action job that almost makes me forgive him!) It's professionally done, but makes it a shooter rather than a collectible. For $625 OTD and the fact that these were apparently made to use .44 projectiles.... I can stand it.
I've got several N frames, but never a 5"
I'm looking at this thing like my first 3" K frame. (model 66 for $316)
World changing. (I didn't like revolvers before that 66, although I had a small pile) and I didn't really like my N frames until now. It just "fits"
Most K frames should be 3" and most N frames should be 5"
If you haven't, you owe it to yourself to try one.
Guess I need 44-40 dies...
