A day at the range with a new Smith & Wesson

A new Smith & Wesson 627 Performance Center 8 shot. Took the new gun out today and loved it. Really smooth trigger and a pleasure to shoot. I look forward to going out again soon.

I have a friend who has some private land, 3 miles from my house, that he lets me use. It makes it nice and a lot less expensive than going to the range.

It is a real nice pistol.

It was a fun afternoon. My wife and kids enjoy getting together and going to the range. I waited a while to get the 627. It is everything I have been reading about too. It is one of my favorite.

I am really wanting to go to some private land. Makes me miss home. I am from West Texas and we used to just go to the desert and shoot when I was young. That is how my dad taught me and I want to take my boy to something like that. I would rather be able to sit there and really take the time to talk to him and explain everything instead of being at an indoor range and having to shout or having him jump everytime a shot was fired by someone else. He is getting old enough that I need to go over gun safety and show him how violent a gun shot is so he understands it's severity. My guns are locked down but gun safety is the smarter way to go.
