I just bought a set of Nitto Terra Grappler G2 for my 1500 dodge. I read some good reviews and all I can comment on now (since they're new) is that they're certainly quiet. NTB had a pretty good 2 for deal if you buy some of their other services. P265 70R17 were $810 including alignment, road hazard, "life time" balance, and taxes.

I currently have 70k on my set of BFG all terrain ko's. They have seen there better days but I'll squeeze out another 10-15k. I run these on a f150 and they are a great all around tire.

I have been driving pickups for almost 60 years and I have never had a set of tires that lasted me 70K miles and I buy good tires. I am replacing my 20" OEM truck tires tomorrow and they have 38,000 miles on them. I suppose the spirited stop and go greatly reduces the life of my tires.

The key is proper inflammation and proper rotation...Go read a few reviews on the BFG ko's and there is lots of folks getting 70-80k out of a set. Mine prob are wore out by your definition and need to be changed, but I like to get my money's worth lol

I have Kumho Road Venture MT's on my Ram 2500 4x4. They were one of the very few mud tires in 17" with an E load rating that I could find. Been on 2 years, roughly 20k on them, and plenty tread left. People say they can hear me coming from the tire noise, but I don't hear it in the cab with the Cummins, so don't really care

When I had my '06 F250 I had both BFG all terrain & Goodyear MTR. Both did really well & I didn't find them excessively noisy. The BFG were a little less forgiving about air pressure. At the time I was towing a 13,500# fifth wheel camper. Both did an excellent job when inflated for the weight I was towing. The only down side was the price. The truck came with 20" wheels & a set of tires was right at $1800.00 out the door. Both lasted about 40 to 45,000 miles, which is pretty good considering the loads I pulled & the Pipeline jobs I went on. I have a set of Pro Comp AT tires on my Jeep & they are a little loud for an AT tread.

I just made the switch from Hankook MTs on my 09 2500 GMC Diesel to Toyo Open Country RT. The Hankooks wore very evenly and never had a single flat in 40,000 miles. They were a little loud and I'd like to get a few more miles out of a set, I rotate every 10,000. The Toyo is a fairly new tire somewhere between an AT and a MT.
