If anyone is thinking about taking a really good pistol/carbine course.....here's your chance. Nate is an extraordinary instructor. No matter the skill level, I highly recommend these classes.

Registered and paid yesterday should be a great time gonna be HOT though

Don't worry, during drills every student is fanned off by their own personal Twin Peaks waitress with a fan made of bald eagle tail feathers.

Okay...maybe not, but we do have a shady tree. :)

    Ahhh the shade tree.

Many stories happen around that tree. I would pay just to hang out under it.

On a serious note, I highly recommend this class. It doesnt matter your experience level, Nate and Trent are 2 of the best instructors I have ever met.

    Don't be intimidated.

Getting ready for the classes and have a question about bullet orientation for the carbine. Which direction is best for the carbine? I know it is forward for the pistol and am leaning towards rearward for the carbine but didn't know if it should be the same.

Pistol bullets towards your belt buckle, rifle bullets away from the buckle. I avoided using terms like right and left because I know you are Piney Woods.

I need to actually sign up, but I'm in for the Carbine class. Can y'all recommend a mag-carrying solution though? I haven't bought anything yet. Not committed to either belt or vest, just whatever works best.

Please do not let a lack of gear keep you from training. Software is paramount we can help you fix your hardware.

    +1

Thanks for all the good recommendations. My "kit" is coming together nicely. If VG can help me put together the right stuff to enable me to learn from one of his courses, he can help anyone. My previous version of "gear" was a magazine or two and some bug-spray.

I would most certainly go belt.

I suggest a riggers belt with your holster, 2 pistol mags, and 2 rifle mags in some sort of injection molded pouch. Fast-Mag or Blade-tech, etc....

Chest rigs are neat if you are wearing armor or need to carry a lot.

Belts are much faster, lighter, and allow you to be nimbly bimbly (tm).
