I am really wanting to get a red dot for my AR. I came across an Aimpoint Pro for $380 and I'm considering buying it. Any thoughts/opinions?

    Thanks in advanced!

They are a great deal. Usual Aimpoint quality. Its probably the best deal in RDS's available. You can shoot very far with it if you know your holds. Target ID is another story.

Love mine. Commonly considered the best bang for the buck in terms of non-magnifying RDS.

The lowest I've ever seen them is $350, but that's been about 6 months. $380 shipped isn't a bad price. You could wait or dig around and maybe find one for 15 bucks less, if price is really an issue.

I like mine. Be careful how you set your brightness though, if you leave it on or close to the highest setting your battery life will tank.

For the money, I'm not sure you can get a better optic.
