AK-47 front rail

I have a Yugo underfolder and want to put a holo or a reflex up top in front of the irons. I like the looks of the ATI fore end but what I read says it won't work on the Yugo. The TAPCO is fugly and the UTG / Leapers is pretty bulky and looks like it would be rough on your hand.

If anyone has already done this, what front end did you use? Pics?

have you looked at the ultimak mount it mounts your optic in a scout like config and you can still co-witness your iron sights

mounting optics on the yugo is always a question. the ultimak is probably the best. I wanted to go with the utg because of the expandability options. I haven't gone with anything yet, but let us know what you settle on.

I have an ultimak on my AK74. The only negative is that since it's attached to the barrel it gets freaking hot!

I bought the UTG #478 Quad Rail System Forearm for my YugoRomaian kit gun. It came with a full set rubber rail guards.

Bubba, did you go look at it? I guess you could if your gas tube is made of wood.

Midwest Industries also makes a version. Forget the full name of the company but if you google "Midwest AK rail" you'll get there. What I liked about it (and the site had a Yugo so railed) was that it looked "tighter" to the gas tube than the ultimak.

Just a thought but how can more options be a bad thing?
