Just bought an AK off Spanky and I wanted to add a new handguard, foregrip, and stock. Any suggestions? (I'm kinda new to AKs)

    Depends what you want.
    Wood
    Poly ?

Stay away from Tapco except the SAW grip.
    K-Var
    IronWood

Those should be enough to make your head hurt and your wallet lighter. Enjoy

The Tapco SAW grip is nice. The Houge grip is better. I have both and prefer the Houge.

K-Var make some really nice stuff.

Other than that, wood is always a good option.

Im partial to the SAW only because it fits my meat hooks well. I dont think I've ever held a Houge for an AK. hmmmm

I really do like the SAW grip. MUCH better than the standard AK grips. The Houge has better traction (IMO) and the finger grooves are nice. I have Houge on my Arsenal and the SAW on my AMD-65.

For poly, K-Var is the best available IMO. Not the cheapest though...

Stay away from Tapco junk. Their grip is decent, but their stocks and forearms are poop.

+3 for the Hogue. It's a MUST have on the Draco pistol. I like it enough that I bought two more yesterday at the show for the Yugo underfolders at 20 bux apiece. Best 20 you could spend on it IMO. I do like the look of the ironwood and if I ever have a *nice* AK I'll do all four pieces in some nice stuff like that.

Does K-var make a handguard with rails?

By the way - the Tapco stuff is crap because it breaks I assume?

hey, whose railed fore end do y'all like? I put a holo on the Saiga the other day to shoot skeet and I'm thinking that might be the way to go on the folder. :naughty:

I've got an Ergo grip on mine, and it sounds a lot like the Hogue being described. Finger grooves, good gripping surface, increased the size of the grip notably-- now it really, really feels sweet.

EDIT-- Looks a lot like the one posted below, with more of a taper from the bottom of the grip to the top. It's a little bit fatter all around, and more rounded up at the trigger guard area.
