    Oh no, it's the Jooz:mamoru:

    Seriously, pirate attack? You have to check your intellect at the door to come up with that.

    The activists went looking for a confrontation and got what they asked for. What Israel did wrong was deploying their men without sufficient weaponry and in insufficient numbers. A few guys doing dope-on-a-rope onto a crowded deck while carrying paintball guns was stupid.

    True, Isreal ain't much on PC, hope they never get there, IDF is my role model

    Specially Ziva David.......or is she Massad

    You guys understand they boarded these boats in INTERNATIONAL WATERS? This is a violation of international law. Sure they pressed Israel on the issue, because they did this same mission previously unloading the cargo in Israel. Problem is the cargo never made it to Gaza.

    I watched Hannity last night, think hes been sucking some Kosher sausage. He basically called the aid workers terrorists, and all countries condemning this Israel's enemies (anti-semites) lol. Always the same defense, Israel was under attack and defending herself.

    Who cares? Is anyone going to do anything about it?

    Nice Hebrew National reference.

    That's becasue it always the same provocation, Israel under attack. Since 1947! Wake up. How many countries in the middle east refuse to acknowledge the existence of Egypt? How many terrorist organizations send bomb laden fanatics to blow up buses full of women and children in Syria? How many countries in the middle east send rockets streaming across their border into Turkey? How many countries has Israel threatened to make a sea of glass like Iran has repeatedly done?

    The Israeli's have been under attack since the U.N. created their space. The Palestinians have repeatedly refused ever more generous peace offers time after time.

    All it will take for Israel to stand down is for all the countries and terrorists dedicated to their destruction to stand down first. That's it. Quit trying to kill them and they'll happily go about their business of running the most democratic and economically poroductive country in the middle east.

    But they will not stand by and be slaughtered.

    It could easily be viewed the other way. Israel on the attack since 1947. This country was founded on terrorism - just ask the British about the King David hotel that was blown up. Stalin created a Jewish homeland for them - not good enough. Madagascar was offered to them - not good enough. Israels method of achieving peace will ultimately make them an isolated rogue state throughout the world.

    In life, you sometimes have to take sides.

    If you think this flotilla was headed for Gaza strictly for humanitarian purposes, you may want to get that head examined. There are many signs pointing to a summer attack on Israel- this may be the opening stages....

    This is a serious situation that could get out of hand- FAST. Suppose the Turks decide to send a naval escort along with the next flotilla?

    Yea, 1947 matters this week. You want reality? Look at the relationship Israel and Egypt have. When Egypt decided to stop attacking Israel, poof...no more problems. That's the reality on the ground. When you stop attacking them, they stop defending themselves.

    Egypt is on our payroll, since they are such wealthy people unlike those starving Israelis, they only recieve 1.8 billion a year. I see this also as taxpayer money spent for Israels benefit all the same. It could be said that the man in charge in Egypt is another puppet.

    Turkey should send an Armed escort with the next boat since the threat of piracy in International waters is present. I'd like to know why our own gov't isn't making any noise about the 12 Americans being detained?

    SECTION V : NEUTRAL MERCHANT VESSELS AND CIVIL AIRCRAFT

    Neutral merchant vessels

    67. Merchant vessels flying the flag of neutral States may not be attacked unless they:

    (a) are believed on reasonable grounds to be carrying contraband or breaching a blockade, and after prior warning they intentionally and clearly refuse to stop, or intentionally and clearly resist visit, search or capture;
    (b) engage in belligerent acts on behalf of the enemy;
    (c) act as auxiliaries to the enemy s armed forces;
    (d) are incorporated into or assist the enemy s intelligence system;
    (e) sail under convoy of enemy warships or military aircraft; or
    (f) otherwise make an effective contribution to the enemy s military action, e.g., by carrying military materials, and it is not feasible for the attacking forces to first place passengers and crew in a place of safety. Unless circumstances do not permit, they are to be given a warning, so that they can re-route, off-load, or take other precautions.

    Now what do you say?

    A blockade has to be legal and in an armed conflict. After looking into it, I think Israel was legal since they have pulled out their army. Although they still control airspace and everything going in and out of Gaza. I'll man up and admit I was wrong on the legality. You got me.

    ^ thats real intelligent.

    There is another debate on the legality of Israel's boarding since Gaza has been deprived of basic needs items for a long period. It can be considered collective punishment in violation of the Geneva convention. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/06/01/AR2010060102934_pf.html

    Any way you look at it, killing humanitarian aid workers is going to lead to problems in todays world. Israel F'd up and are in damage control mode using every outlet available to convince you that these people were terrorists and Israel was just defending themselves. To help restore their image they should let the Irish folks on the Rachel Corrie pass to Gaza. They should be heading that way.
