The nonpartisan Council for A Better Louisiana is opposing a constitutional amendment that would set a tougher standard for restricting the use of weapons and remove a provision that gives the Legislature explicit authority to limit concealed handguns.

So where is the NRA on this? No quotes in the press, no visibility. Where are you?

If you say so, but I haven't seen it and I read the Advocate pretty thoroughly.

I googled "Louisiana" and "YES on 2" and found this:

    http://www.google.com/#hl=en&sclient=psy-ab&q=%22louisiana%22+AND+%22yes+on+2%22&oq=%22louisiana%22+AND+%22yes+on+2%22&gs_l=hp.3...101770.104722.1.105339.6.6.0.0.0.2.199.652.2j3.5.0.les%3B..0.0...1c.1.M2kmpQBsIWE&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&fp=416e91a2444f234e&bpcl=35277026&biw=1366&bih=653

Neither the Advocate nor the TP ran with our Op-Ed. It should not be surprising that some media outlets do not want to share the pro-gun perspective or, at least, provide a balanced discussion on an issue. However, over 30 papers in Louisiana have printed our op-ed. Here are two examples:

    http://www.thetowntalk.com/article/20120929/OPINION/209290312

    http://www.zacharytoday.com/pages/full_story/push?article-Nov-+6-+A+historic%C2%A0opportunity+for+La-+voters+to+protect+their+gun+rights%20&id=20335667&instance=news_special_coverage_right_column

In addition to media, social media, and radio, NRA has undertaken a massive awareness campaign -- mailings, election materials (yard signs, bumper stickers, flyers, etc). And there is more on the way.

Nra80 what can we do? Do you happen to have a short and simple message we can email to family and friends? I'm not into the social media thing but would be willing to do my part. Early voting starts in a week or two!

Wow, went to the facebook page and "liked" it. From there went to the "letter to the editor" where LSA pres responded to editorial and was truly shocked by the moronic comments made by readers. I thought this amendment was a slam dunk in Louisiana... I am a little worried now...

You should be worried. Letter to the editor in today's Times Picayune urging gunowners to vote against the amendment because it would take away your gun rights. OMG how uninformed and/or stupid can you be?

Please get the word out to your family and friends. If you need any accurate information, contact me, NRA80 or go to the NRA and LSA websites and facebook pages.

    Vote YES on 2.

Just curious, I've heard some people talk about this making CC permits no longer needed in this state. I didn't think it was correct, but figured someone would know better than I.
