The general consensus after the G42 was released was a 9mm version would follow it in the future. Obviously no one really knows what Glock will do until they annouce it, but does anyone have a feeling that the single stack 9mm will be produced?

    It's supposedly coming soon.

That's from someone who sells tons of Glock's.

I'm guessing in January right around SHOT, just like they did with the 42.

I expect it to be announced at SHOT and be available by spring 2015. It will have to be slightly larger than the G42 for the 9mm round to fit.
Shield/CW9 size with a staggered magazine holding 8/9 rounds would be a winner.

I would love a shield sized glock.... Would kinda render my 26 somewhat useless but I think it would make s great carry gun.

I spoke to a Glock Representative recently and all he could say is Glock is working on a small 9mm and expect it to be for sale in 2015.

I'll be putting my name on the list for sure, I love carrying my 42 but would much rather a 9mm even if it's slightly larger.

I'll be in for one as well. The G42 380 sold very well, but when this 9mm model gets released, it's gonna sell like crazy....22LR may be easier to get ahold of during the first few months :D

I got a 42 for my wife. She had a 19 before, but really wanted something lighter. Found I really like shooting the 42 as well, but just can't quite make myself carry a .380. When it comes out in 9mm I'll be on the order list immediately.

Ok. Now I'm curious. How many are willing to give up their hi cap argument against revolvers just to downsize to a reduced capacity Glock? Can you now argue the superior ballistics of a 9mm over 357, 44 or 45 given equal round count? Not looking for a flame war but the turn about seems interesting.

I carried a 5 shot J-frame for a few years, so you won't hear any arguing from me. A smaller gun you will actually carry and have with you will beat no gun at all cause you 20 shot super-pistol doesn't fit in your pants.

There are many reasons people prefer a small 9mm pistol over a revolver.

I had a little snub nose J-frame that was a great little pistol... I actually wish I had kept it. My only arguments are capacity and reloading. Even with a smaller single-stack semi-autos, 6 shots seems to be the floor... however, one in the chamber provides an advantage even though slight. Also, +1 or +2 extensions on magazines and now you're back to 8 or 9 rounds before reloading.

I know I'm going to catch hell for this... but... My revolver/semi-auto pistol comparison...

    Semi-Auto:
With semi autos, dropping a mag and slapping another in place with a tap of the slide release or a rack of the slide and "pew pew".

    Revolver:
Opening a cylinder, ejecting the spent shells, dropping another set in (if you use a speed loader, if not, loading each individually), releasing them into the cylinder and then slapping it back into place just seems like a lot of work. haha... I do love that a revolver is always ready to go though. No slide racking, no failure to feed, you could still have a failure to fire and failure to eject, unlikely... but possible.

Even with the smaller single stack pistols, it doesn't decrease the ease of reloading or the ability to be at a minimum of +1 (or 2 or 3) up on the opponent carrying a 6-shooter.

Just my take on it. Though again, I still miss my J-Frame.

I will get this Glock when it comes out.

It will not replace my airweight j-frame.

The j-frame fills a niche for me that no auto will fit.

My only argument with the block 19 I carried for years was the size of the grip because I have small hands. However with a 42 or close to size single stack 9 my name will be on the list as well.

It's kinda sorta been here already. It's called a Beretta Nano. I might get flamed for this by Kool Aid drinkers but I think it's pretty close to Glock functionality. Just my .02, no need for arguement. Lol
