Any welding classes in the Baton Rouge area?

I'm looking to learn how to weld. I would prefer taking a class but I don't want to commit to a semesters worth of classes. Anyone have any ideas where to look?

I'd buy a machine, and get to teaching myself if I were you. There are plenty videos/books to tell you what you need to know. Best way to learn is to get burning.

There are plenty of small fabricating shops in the B/R area. Go to a few and offer to work part time in exchange for welding lessons.

Maybe you have some other skills you could trade for welding lessons.[ Electrical work, plumbing, AC, computer, cabinet building etc..etc..]

My son in law has a cabinet shop and trades off for lots of other services.
