FYI I live near the Camp Perry Ohio Store "1 1/2 hours"
Just picked up a WWII M1 1944 Garand, SA (Springfield) Field Grade. However it is more like a Service Grade

If you go to the store or get someone to go to the store for you you can get a great rifle for less the $500.
There is a fine line between Field and Service Grade.

I would do it fast because like the M1 Carbine when there gone the price goes through the roof.
I purchased one of the last M1 Carbine returned from Germany $450

I was given a CMP M1 Garand on Thanksgiving day. I have the best Uncle in the world I think.

My nephew and B-i-L got to take it to the range the next day. It's my new favorite rifle. There is just something about it, quirks and all. It's simply a fine weapon, and historic as well. I'm looking at picking up an adjustable gas plug so I shoot heavier than 150gr bullets. Any suggestions on where to get a good one?
