Friend of mine sent me this pic figuring I'd have some clue. I don't. Story is he found this thing this morning by itself in the grass at a local park while on patrol (off duty leo) and was wondering WTF. He lives in MD or else I'd drive out to see it myself.

    Maybe an elaborate Weather Rock?

    Weather Rock instructions:

If the rock is wet, it's raining.
If the rock is swinging, the wind is blowing.
If the rock casts a shadow, the sun is shining.
If the rock does not cast a shadow and is not wet, the sky is cloudy.
If the rock is not visible, it is foggy.
If the rock is white, it is snowing.
If the rock is coated with ice, there is a frost.
If the ice is thick, it's a heavy frost.
If the rock is bouncing, there is an earthquake.
If the rock is under water, there is a flood.
If the rock is warm, it is sunny.
If the rock is missing, there was a tornado.
If the rock is wet and swinging violently, there is a hurricane.

Im pretty sure it is a deer feeder? The bucket probably has a hole that the rope goes through and wheen the deer bumps the round thing corn falls out.

I think deer feeder may be right. But in the middle of the grass on a park area? I wonder what purpose the little pieces of wood on the ropes through the 4x4's are for?

Being that it's in a park, it's either abstract art or possibly something to do with frisbee golf.....but I'm pretty sure it's art, if you wanna call it that.
