    This is one of those things that's been in my mother and grandmother's kitchen for longer than I can possibly remember; no idea how old it is. No idea who made it. I found another one in a goodwill some years ago and grabbed it up, but still no manufacturer's name on it and I've never seen a new one in catalogues or in stores anywhere.

    In our house it's been used exclusively for making cornbread on a stove top. Lightly grease or oil it, put it on the stove to warm it up and add the batter. Close it and flip it over after it's been cooking for a bit and you get this oval shaped loaf of cornbread.

    So it seems. Because of how it's always been used that never occurred to me. Each half of the pan is about two inches deep too so if you used it for omelettes they'd be huge!

    Yep. It's family size. I like the cornbread application too....multi-function. ;)
