I first learned about Acetyl L-Carnitine for nerve pain from shingles. I started taking it and feeling better over all but was still layed up from shingles. A few weeks ago some nerve pain returned but instead of taking meds that make me groggy, I tried the A L-Carnitine again. So far it’s been great. Stomach pains are better, more energy, less aches & pains & more. I’ve had these problems since I was a teenager & they have gotten worse with age, but I may have found my health answer. So far the only down side is some stomach gas.
Anyone else have big health improvements just from taking a supplement?

I have been paying attention to "Health Food"/"Healthy Living" for basically my whole rational-thought life, and they can be great! People abuse the hell out of them without realizing it. I do not think that the vast majority of "daily supplements" should be taken daily unless they are directly treating something like in your case...Amino Acids are very powerful, and rarely harmful if taken regularly. Vit D, Zinc, Vit C, B Vits, and Amino Acids (you can really target specifics with Aminos) are some of the most useful, as well as herbal supplements like Nettles, Mullein, Ginko, and Ashwagandha.

I have a shelf full. You do have to be careful with EAA and BCAA's. You may be taking something that just contains EAA or BCAA's and not realize that they are also in your protien. You can take too much and can throw of blood work in a CBC check. I know this for a fact as it happened to me. D3 is another good vitamin if you sit behind a desk or inside all day. If you know you are going to be outside on a day just skip it. K2 is another that works hand in hand with D3. I also take garlic, l-arginine, l-cartinine, niacin, taurine, milk thisle, B complex and a few others to help me relax and sleep like l-theanine, gaba, and Ashwagandha. What I did it look at the preworkouts and see what they basically contain and just got those individually. That way I could control what I take with out all of the fillers or super doses of caffene/similar stumulants.
