AR build question

I've got a compete AR upper & barrel etc to be assembled. What sources do any of you use to guide you along in the process to make sure it's done right? Thanks.

I've seen a few. Just trying to get all sources before I start my 1st upper.

Do an online search for TM 05538/23&P.
Its an old M16 manual, but it has all standard specs (torque, lining etc..)

If you have all of the proper tooling it is a simple job. The torque is to be set between 35lbs and 70lbs don't exceed 85lbs or you'll damage the upper. YouTube is a wealth of knowledge but you should look for a manufacturer's specs to be sure of the recommended torque and spacing for the rifle to perform correctly. Army surplus sells an m16 A2 manual used by the Marine Corps. I think it's about $6.

It's a Colt M16A1 upper with a 20" FNMI MP 5.56 nato 1/7 barrel.
