Ok... I built an AR using Colt fire control parts. I can tell it must be the crap they shove into service weapons as the springs are stiff and the contact points aren't very smooth ( a lot of machine marks ). I've polished the surfaces down pretty good using valve grinding compound and rubbing compound to finish it off. My question is how would one go about reducing the weight of the overall trigger pull?

do a search over on ar15.com in the build it yourself forum (or even google)for the 15 minute trigger job. There's pics and detailed instructions, but it basically involves cutting off one leg of the hammer spring, and tweaking the remaining leg, I havent personally done it, but there is lots of people that swear by it.
