Nobody's rights are being taken away here. And this has nothing to do with socialism or communism.

GoDaddy is a privately owned company. It can host whichever websites it chooses to host. And while I haven't read their hosting terms and conditions, I suspect that there's some verbiage in there that allows them to terminate a hosting account at its discretion. The owners of AR15.com presumably agreed to those terms and conditions when they contracted GoDaddy's services.

A little civics lesson: first amendment protections for free speech apply to the government, not to private individuals and private companies. In other words: the government can't censor your speech, but a private company most certainly can.

Put differently: I can stand on the sidewalk (public property) in front of your house and say what I want to. But as soon as I step onto your private property, I'm bound by your rules. If you don't want me to say what I'm saying, then you have every right to tell me to stop.

Lastly: let's say that you owned a web hosting company. And let's say that a gun control group wanted to host their website on your servers. Do you want the first amendment (vis-a-vis the government) to force you to host their website?

GoDaddy is a publicly traded company. While these companies are entitled to their opinions, they should not be protected by any section 230 laws. That way I can sue them for censuring me, while allowing opposing view points to continue on. If you don't like what I say, and I don't like what you say, in a world where we are equal. Should not each opinion matter equally as much, or should we allow the court of public opinion to reign supreme? Such is the difference between a democracy, and a republic.

I may not be popular for saying this on here, because I know you all were vehemently against what happened at the capital, but I see no comparison to angry patriots trying to make their voices heard to what has happened all over our country, and is happening again in the PacNW. I didn't even see one dumpster fire, or molotov cocktail thrown. You say but 5 people died, correct One woman shot by a DC body guard or the police still not sure on that. One policeman who may have been hit in the head with a fire extinguisher, but said he was fine hours later, and no one thought the wiser that he may be concussed. Two died of causes not related to any violence one guy had a heart attack, one a stroke, and a third woman who was supposedly trampled to death by the mob. The one death that can maybe be attributed to the mob was a woman supposedly trampled to death, then again it happens on Black Fridays around the country on a regular basis so mileage may vary. I apparently didn't see the same thing everyone else saw, because if these people had done things as peacefully as was done in Kenosha or Seattle for example, There wouldn't be much left of Constitution Ave. given the number of peaceful protesters in attendance.

Our rights are indeed under attack, and have been for some time. I don't even consider myself a radical of any sort, but I am not living with my head in the sand either. Truth is truth, and I will choose the Republic everyday over the Democracy. Democracy is Mob Rules, a Republic is a country of laws applied equally to everyone, and a populace who holds their government to task.

Go daddy responded to people inciting criminal activity. If there were people on that forum inciting underage pornography y’all wouldn’t be saying the things y’all are saying.

But for the last 4 years the other side has spewed more than I can keep up with at least as offensive and inciting criminal activity and the follow up yo that was towns over run and burned and several people killed. None of those mediums shut down any BLM or Antifa group planning little lethal demonstrations or riots. Hard to justify shutting down one group over another in my opinion.
