The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office says a man attempting to rob a local Waffle House at gunpoint was shot and killed by a customer carrying a concealed weapon.

Lt. Tony Ivey said two men entered the restaurant early Saturday morning and at least one was carrying a handgun. A customer with a concealed weapons permit drew his gun, and fired when one of the suspects pointed the weapon at him.

Sorry guys, I loves me a Waffle House. I don't go often, but I do like them.

Better ending than the one we had off Sherwood a little over a year ago.

I've never once seen any sign banning handguns at any of the Waffle Houses in Louisiana.

Not sure if I would care, either.
Waffle House Corp policy. We found this out early on when looking for Open Carry meetup locations.
Most resturants don't post the signs but some do.

I believe it was MEM who found a No Guns sign at a La Waffle House and called corporate and verified the no gun policy.

I like how the customer service agent called it "dining in the restaurant". I wouldn't exactly call eating at Awful House "dining" and even calling it a "restaurant" is a stretch. I could never carry in a Waffle House anyway because LA law requires me to be sober while packing.

Maybe this incident will help open up the WH management's collective eyeball's so they can see they were targeted BECAUSE they don't allow guns. Thank God for the guy who broke that corporate rule, or scumbag would have probably killed someone, stolen the money, and probably gone on to shoot and injure a LEO.

Waffle House could probably sue the shooter if they so chose to!

Most likely. I just hope they realize the error of their ways and do away with this policy immediately.

I know this happened in another state, but doesn't the law say something to the effect of, "if it's not clearly posted at ALL entrances/exits, it's not a 'legal' posting?" I know they can force you to leave if they make you, but in an incident such as this where it may not be posted, could they actually sue him. Again, if this were to happen in LA.
