I'd like to ask a favor of you duck hunters:

I need some wood duck flank feathers for fly tying.

Also green wing teal drake flank feathers.

If you're gonna throw them away, stuff them in a bag and send me a PM. I'm in BR and I'll drive a reasonable distance to pick them up. Can trade some deer meat, fish, or finished flies.

    Thanks, Hitman.

Here's a very simple fly made with only two ingredients, a bit of synthetic ice dubbing for flash, and a wood duck flank feather:

It's deadly on all kinds of fish. I just got back from a trip to Northern Sweden where this fly worked so well on arctic grayling from day one that I never switched for the rest of the trip. Works just as well on bluegill or bass.

Get me a bag of feathers and I'll make you a bunch of these.
